What Are Clinical Trials & How they are related to Emergency Medicine

In order to prevent diseases in a better way, clinical trials occur which basically are studies focused on scientific discoveries of methods to find ways to prevent or cure any disease.

These studies are conducted in order to screen, prevent or fix any occurring issues in health, regularly and then all the research is placed in a resource that is accessible to everyone, known as Clinical Trials Journal.

A journal like this generally takes the scientific question into consideration and are focused on getting an answer for them. Hence, these studies will always follow a proper scientific standard that will focus on protecting the patients and getting correct answers for each query that can pose a threat to well-being.

Information is collected from the past events to present then its evaluated and discussed between scientists and a proper solution or preventive action is taken.

All this is documented in the journal that will help others and can become a reliable resource for future issues to come. Most of these trails are taken place after all the research is taken place already and final research & development is required.

Most of the time, these research starts in a lab where all the tests are taken place and after that documentation and queries are taken out.

These Clinical trials are classified into four phases where each phase helps the scientists get an answer to a question in a different way, as the conditions change in each phase.

First Phase:

During this phase, different drugs are tested in different scenarios and on different groups of people, each group being small. With each test, scientists try to figure out how each drug should be taken, keeping in mind the safety & side effects of it on each group of people taking part in the experiment. This helps the scientists finding out how each drug should be delivered to the population.

Second Phase:

This phase generally includes more people than the previous one, the first phase, that’ll be focused mainly on the safety and result oriented goal for these experimental drugs treatments. Most of the time, this experiment or phase can take up to several years.

Third Phase:

Just like the last one, this one will also include a large number of people, even more than the third phase, and the main focus of this phase will be to compare the experimental drug & treatment and how they are producing results.

Because of the sheer number of people taking part in these experiments, it becomes a bit easier to find a more precise evaluation & identification of any side effects of a drug, that wasn’t previously identified in the second phase. After this, the Regulatory authorities will evaluate the results to find out whether they should approve these drugs or not.

Fourth Phase:

More trials will be carried out to find out the safety and effectiveness of the drugs that are approved by the health authority. These trials will be carried out over a large population throughout multiple locations.

A clinical trails Journal will include all the trails reports that were taken place, the results that came out, reviews, all the health reports, policies placed during the complete trial process and the results.

A collection of all the Emergency medicines used during the clinical trial or in a pre-hospital or hospital emergency care will be listed in an Emergency Medicine Journal, that can be accessed by anyone.

These journals will be peer reviewed journal that will focus on emergency medicine and critical care research. It features all the original research, book reviews & papers and reviews during the care process.
