Donald Trump says China is making things difficult with North Korea
US President Donald Trump said that China is playing a role in complicating the relationship of America with North Korea. It is hampering the ally of economic assistance and making the Pyongyang’s denuclearization at stopping. Nonetheless, he added that the relationship with Kim Jong Un is still ‘good.’ He also said that the military exercises in Pyongyang Peninsula of Korea wouldn’t be exercised. This is because Koreans considered the region to be ‘provocative.’
Trump denied the criticism pointed at Kim. Mike Pompeo, the Secretary of State, had to cancel his trip to North Korea last weekend. Trump blamed the other parties for the lack of progress. Commenting on the relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump said, “China makes it much more difficult regarding our relationship with North Korea.” He also commented that his relationship with China was ‘great.’
Trump met North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un in Singapore in June. Adding about their relationship, he said that his relationship was ‘fantastic.’ He added, ‘Part of the North Korea problem is caused by the trade disputes with China.’
There is a major ally between Beijing and Pyongyang. Beijing is the main center for the entry of goods in the North. Trump added that China is disappointed by the move of US on trade relationship and is softening the relation with North Korea. On Wednesday he tweeted, “We know that China is providing North Korea with considerable aid, including money, fuel, fertilizer and various other commodities. This is not helpful!”
The we suspended the military exercises by ‘good faith. Trump said, “there is no reason at this time to be spending large amounts of money on joint US-South Korea war games.” Nonetheless, he added that this could be brought back when needed.
The news came out after Defense Secretary Jim Mattis declared that Pentagon wasn’t planning to put a stop to any military drills. He also said that till now ‘no pepper’ decision had been taken. Trump also expressed his wish to bring some changes in the trade relations between the top two economies of the world, the United States, and China. He said that tough steps to be taken against Beijing on the basis of trade. He added, “it was not fair to our country.” He criticized his predecessor since they were not taking the issue as a problem into consideration.
Back in June, Trump and Kim took the pledge for working for the ‘complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.’ But the efforts were on hold for a long time. As a result, Trump ordered Pompeo to call off his trip to Pyongyang.
Commenting on the cancellation of his trip to Pyongyang, Pompeo said, “ when it is clear that Chairman Kim stands ready to deliver on the commitments that he made at the Singapore summit to President Trump to completely denuclearize North Korea.”
As per the reports or the Washington Post, a letter was sent to Pompeo by Pyongyang. The belligerent letter was the reason for Pompeo canceling his trip. Nonetheless, the contents of the letter are yet not known.
Vox, the famous news site also reported that on June, Trump had decided to sign a declaration to end the Korean War. It is being watched that the countries to be following the commitment.
The spokeswoman of the State Department on Wednesday said that as per Washington ‘denuclearization has to take place before we get to other parts.’ This indicates that there is one such pact in the declaration.
