Donald Trump: The Journey from Real Estate Mogul to President

The billionaire who was once the mogul or real estate is now ruling the United States of America. Whether you love him or you hate him, Donald Trump is a person you cannot ignore. Every other day you open the TV, there is always news about him. Ever since the day he got the seat of a President, he has been subjected to hate to love but never to ignorance. He has been headstrong against the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un. He contested the elections and eventually rose to power as President.

Early Life and Family

Donald Trump is the fourth born child of Fredrick C and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. He was born on June 14, 1946. His birthplace is Queens, New York. Donald Trump received education from New York Military Academy from the age of 13. Thus, he was a very strong and active child. He was a very good student both socially and academically. In his further academic career, he went to study at Fordham University. However, later he transferred to Wharton School of Finance in the University of Pennsylvania. In 1968, he graduated from there with a degree of economics. He had even worked at his father’s real estate business during his college years.

Donald Trump has had three marriages. His first wife was Ivana Zelnickova Winklmayr, a New York fashion model. Currently, Trump is married to the Slovenian model who is 23 years younger to him, Melania Knauss (Trump). Melania and Trump got married in January 2005 and had invited several reputed men. Back in 2006, Melania gave birth to their son, Barron William Trump.

Net worth

As per the 2017 estimates of Forbes, the net worth of Donald Trump is $3.1billion. $1.6 billion is in that of his New York real estate. The resorts and golf club amount up to $570million. The non-New York real estate’s have about $500 million. His assets and cash include of $290 million. Apart from all this, his brand business offers for a $200million. Fortune had estimated back in 2016, that the net worth of Donald Trump was $3.7 billion. However, the decline in the net worth occurred due to the decline of the New York real estates.

Political Career

The political career of Trump began in 2002 when he nominated himself for the Presidential Race. However, he did not continue and withdrew from it. Once again, he decided to contest the Presidential Elections in 2012. But finally, he got the chance to become an official nominee for the Presidential elections in 2016. He contested from the Republican Party. He defied the votes and all the media. Trump finally won the election against Hillary Clinton on 8 November 2016. Though Trump could not make him as popular as Hillary over the country, still managed to get the majority of votes. He got 306 votes, while Hillary Clinton had received 232 votes only. Gradually, defeating Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump has emerged as the 45th President of the United States of America.

On January 20, 2017, Trump swore his Presidential office under John Roberts, the Chief Justice of United States of America. During the inauguration, the new President swore by placing his hands on the Bible used by Abraham Lincoln, and the family Bible presented to him by his mother. However, not many people were happy with Trump being sworn in as the President. Instead, some people even protested against it too.

Trump and Kim Jong-un

No matter what they pretend to be in front of the media, it is quite evident that these two are against each other. Before the meeting at Singapore, both of them were threatening each other of the open nuclear war. In one of the statements, Trump said that he loves the way North Koreans treat Kim Jong-un. The US and North Korea have their different approaches and to resolve this both would need to resolve the issues.

Trump has received backlash from several people for the separating children from their guardians at the border and gun violence. Trump was featured in the TV Series too.
